What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the owners of the site. Cookies enable a website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size, and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don't have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.
There are two main types of cookies:
- Session Cookies: These are temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of your browser only until you leave the site. They are primarily used for security, navigation, and to maintain your session (e.g., keeping items in your shopping cart).
- Persistent Cookies: These remain in the cookie file of your browser for a longer period and are used to remember your preferences or actions across multiple visits to a website. They can be used for analytics, personalization, and targeted advertising.
